Early Spring Update

1 min read

Following all the rain in August and early September, we have enjoyed a pleasant start to spring—although a cold snap is forecast for tomorrow! A very pleasant surprise, there is a Masked Lapwing nesting on the small island in the middle of the wetland water.

Over the past week, more tube-stock trees have been planted, and some of those planted on 5 September have already had mulch applied around them. The grass has also started to grow and is now in need of its first cut.

Today, some initial mowing was undertaken, creating paths around the wetland and through the grassy woodland. There is plenty more work to be done before the heat of summer arrives, so volunteers are always welcome.

If you can lend a hand, please get in touch—we would love to have you join us.
