The World of Disability Rocks!!

Congratulations Dylan Alcott, Australian of the Year 2022.

Dylan Alcott made history this week, becoming the first person with a visible disability to be made Australian of the Year in the award's 62-year history. The 31-year-old athlete, Paralympian, philanthropist, media commentator and advocate was recognised for both his sport and disability awareness work.

Unfortunately, Dylan did not get his fairytale finish in his final tennis match at Melbourne Park yesterday, with World No.2 Sam Schroder from the Netherlands, outplaying the Australian 7-5, 6-0 in the Australian Open men’s singles quad wheelchair final. Congratulations Sam, you played a phenomenal match. Dylan, you may have retired from the world of tennis, but we know you will continue to champion the many causes in the world of disability.
