Spring Planting Day

We enjoyed a beautiful warm and sunny Spring day last Saturday, 4th October, for another planting day at MCP. A number of local volunteers, and some who travelled from Melbourne, came to lend a hand in planting more than 200 native grasses around the wetland and some additional native trees in the grassy woodland.
As before, each tree and many of the grasses were fitted with biodegradable tree guards and stakes to protect them from the ever curious rabbits and kangaroos. Fresh mulch was spread around the newly planted trees - thanks to the local tree maintenance companies who have kindly donated truckloads of mulch in recent months.
Our grateful thanks also go to all the enthusiastic volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without you.

How exciting to see the progress that’s being made. You know if I was close enough, I’d be out there planting, too.
