Use Permit RFI Submission

In June we applied to the Macedon Ranges Shire Council Planning Department for a Change of Use Permit. As the property is in a farming zone, we are requesting change land use from farming, to a place of assembly i.e. where the public will gather. In August we received a Request For Information in addition to the information we had already supplied.

The Planning Department requested a number of professional reports including a Traffic Management Assessment, a Land Management Plan and a Land Capability Assessment which covers, amongst other environmental concerns, water, waste management and drainage. We ourselves wrote the The Site Management Plan, the Daily Operating Manual and the Fire and Emergency Evacuation Plan. All the reports were completed and submitted at the end of last week on December 17th.

We expect this to be yet another process which is sure to include more questions and requests for clarifications. For now, we'll relax and enjoy the Christmas/New Year break and field whatever comes our way from Planning in the new year.

What a time consuming task this has been, and a steep learning curve at times, but it has kept us well occupied during Covid lockdown.
